My Teaching Philosophy

I have over 10 years of teaching experience both privately and in group settings, with children and adults of all ages, and with a variety of skill levels.

I believe that every student has unique goals and challenges. It is my job as your teacher to help you define what those are and to give you the tools you need to succeed in your musical journey.

I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all teaching method, and instead try to cater to each student’s individual needs. It is helpful to me if you have a general idea of what you want to work on or what areas you need help with when we start working together as this will allow me to individually tailor your lessons to your needs and will lead us to achieving your goals faster and more efficiently.

Acceptance

I accept students of all levels from ages 7+. I may be willing to make exceptions for younger students on a case-by-case basis.

Offerings

I am currently offering beginner-advanced violin/fiddle and mandolin lessons, and beginner-intermediate guitar lessons in person at Bellinghome School of Music in Bellingham, WA, or online.

Rates

60 minutes - $80

45 minutes - $60

30 minutes - $40

Payment

I accept payment virtually via Venmo and PayPal or cash/check if we are doing lessons in person.

Payment is due at least 48 hours in advance of the lesson. If the lesson is booked less than 48 hours in advance, payment is due immediately.

Cancellations

If I must cancel a lesson, I will give you the option to make up the lesson at a mutually agreeable time and date. If we cannot schedule a makeup lesson, I will credit the missed lesson on your next bill.

In the case that you must cancel a lesson, I will offer you a refund or makeup lesson if you cancel at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel a lesson outside of this time frame, I cannot offer you a refund or makeup lesson.
